My story

A lot of people have asked me how long i´ve been doing jewelry, and it´s really hard to count, because my timing was not usual.
All my life, I had been a crafts person and loved to make things, specially beaded jewels when I was in school. It was not hard to guess what I wanted to be when I graduated, because my dream was jewelry making.
When I graduated school, my life got up side down. I had an accident that left me in a coma for nearly a month, with a severe head trauma, my head broken, and the right side of my body paralyzed. That night in the hospital was thought to be the last one. Surprisingly to everyone, including the doctors, I lived to tell my story.
I had a lot of therapies for 3 years, that made me recover every function that got damaged. This was a record, because at first, I wouldn’t live to tell my story; then some therapists calculated I would recover in 10 years, and now, some people that hadn’t met me after my accident, can´t believe I had that accident. I´ve recovered so well, the few scars my accident left me, are´nt noticeable, eventhought I know exactly where I fall.
I started doing jewelry, when I was going through my therapies. I started to go to goldsmith classes in an institute, with my sister helping me up the stairs, because I could bearly walk.
Right now, im part of the goldsmiths registed in Ecuador, I graduated University as a jewelry designer about 5 years ago, and i´ve done a lot of expositions, participate in events, and always have work in my jewelry workshop.
Jewelry making is a different procedure with every jewel. Every piece is unique, as its making. You will definitely, start by melting the gold, or the silver. Then, after you pour the liquid metal into an ingot mold, you will procede by giving your jewel shape. You will have different tools that are going to help you continue giving your jewel, it´s final shape. Will need to: constantly heat the metal, so it will not be to hard to work with, use tha saw frame to cut the metal, solder the pieces, lime, polish and finally shine the metal and engrave the stones when the jewel is finished.
My life’s story, is definitely shown in my jewels because, my jewels show the overcoming of life´s hardest. Everyone goes through life with ups and downs and when you go down, life is never the same. Every knowledge you get in the journey, is reflected on what you do today.
Let me show you in my jewelry, my life.

write content to suit your needs? I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on some of the subjects you write related to here.

    Again, awesome blog!
